Job summary

Grand Pacific Health Ltd in NSW seeks a part-time Peer Worker (22.5 hours per week) on a fixed term to 30 June 2031 (with extension possible). The role provides individual and group support grounded in Intentional Peer Support, helping consumers engage, recover and exercise self-determination.

Successful candidates will hold a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or be working towards it within six months), and demonstrate lived experience of mental health challenges and service use, to

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to work towards qualification within first 6 months of employment.
• Direct lived experience of life changing mental health challenges, mental health service use, as well as periods of healing and personal recovery.
• Commitment to safely and purposely share lived experience to engender hope and support others on their personal recovery journey.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group support grounded in Intentional Peer Support principles.
• Support engagement, role model recovery and strengthen consumer self-determination.
• Work within the CLS team to support clients and families.

Job description

This is a part-time opportunity (22.5 hours per week), fixed term until 30 June 2031 with the possibility of extension.

The Peer Worker is a lived experience practitioner working within the CLS team, providing individual and group support grounded in Intentional Peer Support principles such as mutuality, shared learning, connection and hope. The Peer Worker will support engagement, role model recovery and strengthen a consumer’s sense of choice and self-determination.
