Job summary

NSW Health’s Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, seeks a Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 for gastroenterology and nutrition. This temporary full-time role supports paediatric care, education, and clinical leadership in a dynamic team.

You will lead educational initiatives, collaborate across disciplines, and drive evidence-based improvements while supporting families and children in hospital and home settings.

Qualifications

• Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA and five+ years post-qualification experience, with at least three years in the specialty.
• Post-registration qualification at Master’s level or equivalent as deemed appropriate by the hospital.
• Proven clinical leadership and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework.
• Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to implement changes in clinical practice using evidence-based research.
• Experience in strategic and clinical service planning and understanding of organizational change.
• Competency in contemporary information systems and development of specialty education programs.
• Ability to provide child and family-centred consultancy and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical care and education to children and their families within a defined specialty.
• Offer consultancy and education to ward-based nurses in pediatric care.
• Lead ongoing education, development and evaluation of clinical practice.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to advance clinical practice and service delivery.
