Job summary

The Real Pet Food Company (RPF) in Sydney is seeking a Payroll & People Systems Specialist who looks beyond payroll to connect HR systems, data and workflows across the business.

This role combines payroll execution with system governance, data integrity and process improvement, working with UKG Ready and Payroll Metrics to drive accuracy, efficiency and compliant payroll operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in an in-house payroll and/or people systems environment.
• 2-3 years' experience with Time and Attendance in a multi-award blue-collar environment.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and the relationship between employee data, time and attendance, pay rules, system configurations and payroll outcomes.
• Experience with system testing, data validation, reconciliations, reporting or system enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support our payroll and people systems, including system configurations and workflows.
• Connect data flows across systems and processes to understand downstream payroll impacts.
• Protect system integrity and compliance by maintaining accurate data and configurations.
• Investigate process gaps and control weaknesses and implement improvements.
• Troubleshoot system errors with Payroll, HR and vendors to prevent recurrence.
• Support system changes and testing upgrades and document outcomes.
• Maintain controls and documentation for workflows, reconciliations and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement to streamline processes and automate where possible.
