Job summary

News Corp Australia is seeking a capable payroll professional to manage end-to-end payroll processing on a monthly and weekly basis. You will interpret EBA and awards, handle new starters, terminations, deductions, and payroll tax in a large corporate environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a large corporate payroll environment in Australia.
  • Proven Excel ability.
  • Experience with Dayforce and Workday desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and enthusiastic.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to explain payroll matters clearly.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and contribute to accounting initiatives.
  • Experience running complex pay runs to modern awards and EBAs.

Responsibilities

  • Review and submit weekly and monthly pay runs.
  • Maintain payroll records (new hires, terminations, rate changes, deductions).
  • Investigate and resolve incoming payroll queries.
  • Support SOX compliance and ad hoc improvement projects.

What's the role?

You're an ambitious and capable Payroll professional with experience within a large organisation. Here you'll be responsible for the end to end payroll processing on a monthly and weekly basis, including the interpretation of EBA's and awards, new starters and terminations, payroll tax and everything in between.

  • Review and submission of weekly and monthly pay run
  • Maintain, update, and verify payroll records, including new hires, terminations, rate changes, and deductions.
  • Investigate and resolve incoming customer queries
  • SOX compliance process to ad hoc improvement projects
  • 12 month contract
Who are you?
  • Previous payroll experience ideally in a large corporate environment in Australia
  • Proven Excel ability and technologically savvy
  • Experience using Dayforce and Workday is highly desirable
  • Detail-oriented, proactive and enthusiastic
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to explain complex payroll matters to employees with patience and clarity.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and contribute to company accounting initiatives
  • Experienced in running diverse and complicated pay runs that have to adhere to modern awards and EBA's
