Job summary

Ansvar Australia, part of Benefact Group, is seeking a Payroll Officer in Melbourne. This flexible, part-time role supports the Payroll Specialist to deliver accurate payroll and respond to employee queries. You’ll help with day-to-day processing, month-end activities, and ensure compliant payroll operations.

You’ll join a collaborative team focused on impactful community work, with opportunities for development and a supportive culture in a modern CBD office.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Solid knowledge of Australian payroll requirements, including taxation and superannuation.
• Strong data integrity and attention to detail.
• Experience with payroll systems and producing payroll reports.
• Excellent written and spoken communication with employees and managers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely and seamless payroll for our people.
• Partner with the Payroll Specialist on fortnightly payroll and month-end tasks.
• Support payroll compliance, reporting and reconciliations.
• Provide clear, confidential payroll support to employees.

About the role

As our Payroll Officer, you’ll work closely with the Payroll Specialist to help deliver an accurate, timely and seamless payroll experience for our people. You’ll support day-to-day payroll processing, respond to employee queries and help ensure our payroll processes run smoothly, accurately and efficiently.

What you'll be doing

• Help deliver accurate, timely and seamless payroll for our people.
• Partner closely with the Payroll Specialist across fortnightly payroll and month-end activities.
• Support payroll compliance, reporting and reconciliations.
• Provide clear, helpful and confidential support on payroll queries.
• Improve payroll systems and processes to make the employee experience even better.

What you'll need to have

• Strong payroll experience, with sound knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing and administration.
• Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on payroll accuracy and data integrity.
• Sound knowledge of Australian payroll requirements, including taxation, superannuation and employment-related obligations.
• Strong systems and Excel skills, with experience using payroll or HR systems and producing payroll reports and reconciliations.
• Clear communication and customer service skills, with the ability to confidently respond to payroll queries and work collaboratively with employees, managers and the People & Culture team.
