Job summary

Spotlight Group Holdings is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Payroll Team in a full-time permanent role in Melbourne. You will process fortnightly payroll via Dayforce, help refine payroll processes, and support stores with timely, accurate remuneration across the group.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a similar payroll role, familiarity with General Retail Industry Awards, and strong Excel/Word skills.

• End-to-end payroll processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Process fortnightly payroll using Dayforce.
• Assist in developing payroll strategies and processes.
• Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality.
• Provide timely payroll advice to staff and management.
• Create materials for induction and development in stores and group.
• Generate periodic reports to meet business needs (fortnightly, monthly, annually).
• Data analysis, reconciliations, and system health checks.
• Maintain data integrity and liaise with third parties as needed.

About the role

• Process fortnightly payroll through Dayforce
• Assist in the formulation, implementation and maintenance of payroll strategies, systems and processes
• Investigating and resolving pay discrepancies, maintaining confidentiality and discretion
• Provide timely advice to staff and management on performance/payroll related
• Assist in creating related material for induction and development programs in stores and support group
• Generating periodic reporting to meet business requirements – fortnightly, monthly and annually
• Analysis of data, reconciliations, and system health checks
• Database maintenance, including regular data integrity checking
• Liaising with third parties regarding team member details on an ad hoc basis

About You

• You must have 2+ years of experience in a similar role for a medium to large organisation
• Must have prior experience or good understanding of General Retail Industry Awards
• Prior experience with end of month reconciliations and high-volume payroll processing (800 to 1000 employees)
• Experience with Dayforce is desirable
• Experience in New Zealand payroll processing is highly regarded
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Word, Excel and data entry
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
• Proven ability to initiate change and improvement to processes and systems
• Strong skills in documentation of processes
• Ability to work in a large team environment and strive to achieve desired results and deadlines
