Job summary

UnitingCare Queensland is seeking a Payroll Compliance Lead to oversee compliance across a large, multi-entity payroll function. You will drive governance, audits and regulatory reporting while guiding process improvements and system enhancements.

The role requires strong leadership to coach Payroll Compliance Officers and collaborate with Payroll, People & Culture, Finance and Digital teams to deliver accurate, compliant payroll outcomes.

Qualifications

• Extensive payroll experience in a large, complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and legislative requirements (superannuation, taxation, leave).
• Experience across multiple entities/business units within payroll.
• Proven leadership: coaching, mentoring or managing payroll professionals.
• Track record leading payroll projects, audits, system implementations or improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll compliance activities including audits, reconciliations, regulatory reporting and governance initiatives.
• Ensure payroll operations comply with relevant legislation and employment standards.
• Drive process optimisation and root-cause analysis to improve outcomes.
• Partner with Payroll, Finance, People & Culture, Workforce Integration and Digital & Technology teams.
• Lead payroll system improvements, testing, reporting and compliance projects.
• Coach and develop Payroll Compliance Officers to build a high-performing team.
