Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a casual Patient Transport Officer to join our Transport team. Location is negotiable within SNSW LHD, with duties including safe transport of patients between facilities and appointments, and delivering compassionate care during every trip.

The role requires a Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or progress toward it, a current driver’s licence, and the ability to work seven-day rosters including holidays.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport or trainee with First Aid certification.
• Strong literacy, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a busy environment.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and manage daily workloads under pressure.
• Current unrestricted driver’s licence; willingness to drive and travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transport of patients between facilities and appointments.
• Offer comfort, reassurance and professional care during trips.
• Support a seven‑day roster including public holidays.
• Maintain ICT skills for documentation and communication.
