Job summary

HealthShare NSW is seeking compassionate Food Services Assistants at Balmain Hospital to support patient comfort and wellbeing. In this role you will handle order taking, meal assembly, preparation, distribution of patient meals and meal-related record keeping.

The position is permanent part-time, 20 hours per week, at Balmain Hospital, with remuneration of $31.42 per hour plus shift allowances and 12% superannuation. Applications close on 9 November 2026.

Responsibilities

• Take patient meal orders and ensure accurate delivery
• Assemble, prepare and portion meals for patients
• Distribute meals to patient rooms and units
• Record food intake and monitor meal consumption
• Dishwashing and cleaning duties related to food service
• Assist with waste management and safe food handling
