Job Description

As a Pathology Collector, you will collect blood and non-blood samples while delivering a positive, professional and caring experience to every patient. You'll play an important role in ensuring samples are handled accurately and efficiently to support timely diagnosis and care.

About the Candidate

Due to operational requirements for this collection centre, we are seeking experienced Pathology Collectors with a Certificate III in Pathology Collection. We also welcome applications from registered nurses or nursing students who have experience with phlebotomy.

Requirements

• A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement
• Ability to provide evidence of immunisation requirements including Hepatitis B
• A genuine care for people, with a high level of empathy and professionalism
• Strong communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with others, explain clearly and build trust
• Ability to follow processes and procedures with accuracy and consistency
• Ability to manage your time and prioritise tasks
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Sound judgement, with a willingness to learn and the ability to adapt, take initiative and act within scope

This role requires completion of a 6-week paid training program designed to build the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed in collections. This requires a commitment to full-time hours for the first 2 weeks, followed by a minimum of 25 hours per week. Training is delivered internally as part of our Healius Academy onboarding program and may be accelerated based on previous experience.
