Every pathology sample collected helps us deliver high-quality diagnostic services that help clinicians make informed decisions and support better health outcomes. For this position, we’re seeking experienced Pathology Collectors who want to continue building their careers in a rewarding role that makes a positive impact in local communities.
A Pathology Collector plays an important role in a patient's healthcare journey. As a frontline representative of the organisation, you'll interact directly with patients to take blood samples, collect other pathology specimens and perform diagnostic tests. You'll help create a positive patient experience while ensuring all samples are collected and handled accurately in accordance with documented procedures and quality requirements.
Due to operational requirements, this position requires previous experience as a Pathology Collector and a completed Certificate III in Pathology Collection. We can also consider Registered Nurses with demonstrated venepuncture experience.
This role requires completion of a 6-week paid training program designed to build the skills and knowledge needed to succeed as a Pathology Collector. Training is delivered internally by Healius as part of your onboarding and may be accelerated based on previous experience.
QML Pathology is a leading pathology and diagnostic services provider and part of the broader Healius Pathology Network. Healius operates more than 80 medical laboratories and approximately 2,000 patient collection centres across metropolitan, regional and remote communities throughout Australia, processing approximately one in four Medicare-funded pathology tests in Australia each year.
