Athletics in the ACT is entering an exciting new era. The sport is growing, reshaping and reconnecting with its community, and at the centre of this resurgence is a renewed commitment to making athletics fun, inclusive and accessible to everyone.

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of that momentum and help lead the next chapter.

You might be an athlete wanting to stay connected to the sport through coaching or community work, a participation focused person who wants to make a real impact in a historic sport on the rise, or a teacher looking for a better fit outside the classroom.

If you have ever been involved in athletics in any capacity, competing, coaching, volunteering, officiating, organising or supporting, you will feel right at home. But experience in athletics is not essential. What matters is your commitment to people and your interest in helping design programs and environments that welcome participants of all backgrounds and abilities.

What You Will Do

You will help bring energy and inclusiveness to everything we do by

  • coordinating come and try days, school holiday programs, school clinics and all abilities activities that showcase how fun athletics can be
  • working with multicultural communities, disability organisations and schools to grow ourAthletics for Allinitiative
  • helping design programs that break down barriers and invite more people into the sport
  • assisting clubs and centres with participation resources, volunteers and engagement
  • helping grow our coaching and officiating crew and supporting new volunteers as they get involved
  • building and supporting an Inclusion and Diversity Network across clubs, schools and community partners
  • keeping our communications and program admin sharp, simple and participant friendly
  • getting out into the sport at events and school activities to represent athletics with enthusiasm

Flexibility

While the role is advertised as full time, we know great people do not always fit a single box. We are open to job share arrangements or alternative structures if it helps the right people contribute to the sport they love.
