Job summary

AKG Australia in Queensland is seeking a Qualified Counsellor/Rehabilitation Counsellor or Social Worker to join our health services team. You will deliver clinical services, run assessments and work with a multidisciplinary team across our sites in Innisfail, Atherton and Mareeba on a permanent part-time basis (3 days per week).

The role focuses on evidence-based individual and group interventions, with a strong link to vocational goals and client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in your discipline (Counsellor, Rehabilitation Counsellor, or Social Worker with AOD experience)
• Registration/Membership with ACA, PACFA, ASORC, or AASW is essential
• Clinical counselling or mental health counselling experience
• Proven ability to motivate and genuinely engage with people
• Solution-focused therapeutic approach linked to vocational goals
• Strong organisational skills
• Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check and national police check/yellow card
• Be able to obtain a myID

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical services through evidence-based, individual and group interventions and counselling
• Provide assessments identifying strengths, skills, experience and vulnerabilities in employment
• Gain expertise by working with a multidisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals
• Permanent Part-time role (3 days a week) covering our sites in Innisfail, Atherton and Mareeba
