Independent Lives is seeking a personal assistant to provide 2 hours per week of in-home support in Horsham. The role requires empathy, discretion and experience with Acquired Brain Injury and complex mental health needs. Duties cover domestic tasks, social interaction, and prompting for personal care with a person-centred approach.

The position offers on-site, part-time work with flexible hours. Applicants must have right to work in the UK and be able to pass an enhanced DBS check if required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with Acquired Brain Injury.
• Knowledge of complex mental health issues in long-term hoarding.
• Able to build trust with a person-centred approach.
• Respectful, diplomatic and non-confrontational communication.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy.

Responsabilités

• Domestic tasks: keep hallway clear; assist laundry, bathroom and kitchen cleaning; maintain clean, safe spaces; manage bedding and fridge hygiene.
• Social tasks: build rapport, assist with phone calls and appointments, liaise with admin for paperwork.
• Personal tasks: assist with prompting for personal care as needed.
• Be flexible with support times and follow instructions or work on own initiative.
