Job summary

The Cherrybrook family is seeking a caring and reliable nanny to provide dedicated one‑on‑one care for their 3‑year‑old son, including play, meals, and routines. The role involves supporting communication using an iPad program and being comfortable with seizures and new sibling care as needed.

Experience with disabilities is valued, but a warm, patient, and proactive approach is essential. The position emphasizes learning, open communication, and building a strong bond with the child.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of professional nanny or childcare experience.
• Interest in supporting children with disabilities and additional needs.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to the family’s routines and communication methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive one-on-one care and engagement for the 3-year-old.
• Plan and participate in sensory, musical, developmental, and age-appropriate play.
• Support feeding, snacks, hydration, and toilet routines throughout the day.
• Assist with toileting, transfers, and mobility as needed.
• Support the child’s nap routine and afternoon activities.
• Encourage movement with walking frame and outdoor play at the park.
• Learn and use the iPad-based communication program to model language.
• Respond appropriately to seizures in line with the family’s plan.
• Provide occasional support with the newborn when required.
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for children.
• Maintain a safe, calm, and nurturing environment.
• Communicate openly with Mum and Dad about the day and wellbeing.
