Job summary

Yorke and Northern Local Health Network is seeking a Part-time Cook to assist in the preparation, production, and distribution of meals and beverages that meet quality and food service standards. You will work with the Services Supervisor to ensure efficient meal service, including bulk cooking and special diets.

Responsibilities include menu planning support, ordering supplies, coordinating with dietitians and nursing staff, and contributing to staff rostering and training.

Qualifications

• Experience preparing and cooking bulk meals and special dietary requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, exercise judgement and meet deadlines.
• Team-focused, flexible and able to adapt to rostering and changing requirements.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, with discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals, including bulk meals, special diets and infant formulas.
• Oversee meal and beverage service, plating, food distribution and quality control.
• Order food supplies, collate menus and bulk orders, and support menu selection.
• Liaise with dietitian and nursing staff, while supporting staff training, rostering and functions.
