Job summary

South Gippsland Hospital (SGH) invites applications from a suitably qualified Registered Nurse to join our Nursing and Midwifery Team. The role includes supporting a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery part time over 2 years with paid study days as per the EBA.

The student midwife will undertake theoretical and practical components of the Post Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, including attending births and antenatal clinics during supernumerary time, while maintaining RN duties.

Qualifications

Current Registration with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board as a Registered Nurse.
Ability to provide evidence-based nursing care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work across all shifts on the roster including night duty and weekends.
Demonstrated experience and expertise in nursing.
Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

undertake theoretical and practical components of the Post Graduate Diploma of Midwifery course during supernumerary time.
Attend births, antenatal clinic and other aspects of the midwifery course as required.
Fulfill the role of a Registered Nurse Grade 2 within SGH.
Collaborate with the Nursing and Midwifery Team to deliver patient care.
