Job summary

Aspire Leisure Centre in Stanmore is seeking a Part Time Fitness Instructor with Exercise Referral expertise to support our gym programmes. The role focuses on helping individuals with varying health needs, delivering safe referral sessions, and fostering a welcoming, inclusive environment for all members.

The position offers 8 hours per week with flexible scheduling, potential overtime, and a commitment to safeguarding and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Fitness Instructor Qualification required.
• Level 3 Exercise Referral (GP Referral) Qualification required.
• Experience supporting individuals with varying health needs and abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic IT literacy.
• A genuine passion for helping people improve their health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe and effective Exercise Referral sessions for clients referred through healthcare professionals.
• Design and review appropriate exercise programmes tailored to individual needs and health conditions.
• Supervise gym users and activities to ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.
• Support customers in using fitness equipment safely and effectively.
• Motivate and encourage individuals to achieve their health and fitness goals.
• Maintain accurate records and support programme monitoring requirements.
• Deliver an outstanding customer experience for all leisure centre users.
