Job summary

St Peters Lutheran College (Indooroopilly) is seeking a caring, organised and proactive Early Years Teacher Assistant to join our Primary Years team. Working with teachers across Years 1–2, you will help create a positive learning environment where every student can reach their potential.

This permanent part-time role (16 hours per week) begins January 2027, with responsibilities including learning support, resource preparation and classroom administration.

Qualifications

• Experience working with primary-aged students.
• Certificate in Education Support or similar (desirable).
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Creativity and initiative in supporting learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and adaptability.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

• Support students in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Assist with learning resource preparation and organisation.
• Maintain a safe, supportive and engaging classroom.
• Support routines and daily learning activities.
• Contribute to pastoral care and wellbeing.
• Assist with classroom administration and record keeping.
• Build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Participate in College events, meetings and Chapel services.
