Job summary

Car Experts Ballina is seeking a dedicated, fully qualified panel beater or an apprentice at 3rd/4th year to join our busy shop in Ballina. This full-time role (contract work available) offers hands-on training and a clear path from apprentice to qualified tradesperson as you work on insurance and private jobs.

You will assess vehicle damage, repair and reshape panels, weld and cut, align and fit parts, read repair manuals, and uphold safety standards while delivering quality customer service.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Panel Beating is preferred.
• 1–2 years of Panel Beating experience required.
• Trade certificate or 3rd/4th year apprenticeship acceptable.
• Teamwork or autonomous work capability.
• Keen eye for shape, alignment, and finish.
• Good time management and organisation.

Responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage and determine repair needs.
• Repair and reshape body panels; weld and cut as needed.
• Align and fit panels; read repair manuals.
• Maintain tools/equipment and safety protocols.
• Provide excellent customer service.

Job description

Car Experts Ballina are seeking a dedicated, fully qualified or 3rd or 4th year apprentice Panel Beater to join our team of professionals on a full-time basis, though contract work is available. We have 2 locations in Ballina for employment.

Duties & responsibilities

• Assess vehicle damage
• Repair and reshape body panels
• Welding and cutting
• Align and fit panels
• Read and interpret repair manuals
• Maintenance of tools and equipment
• Ensure safety protocols are adhered to
• Provide customer service

Experience & attributes

• Prior experience in Panel Beating
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Panel Beating required
• Either a completed trade certificate or 3rd/4th year apprentice status is acceptable
• Able to work effectively with a team or autonomously
• Keen eye for details in shape, alignment, and finish
• Time management & organisational skills
• Available overtime
• Development and I-CAR training
• Relocation assistance if required
