Job summary

HammondCare is seeking a Staff Specialist in Palliative Care to provide high-quality specialist care within the South-West Sydney Local Government Area. The role supports teaching and research while preserving clinical excellence and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.

The position is permanent part-time (up to 0.8 FTE / 32 hours per week) and aligned with the Mission and Mission-in-Action of HammondCare.

Qualifications

• Registered Specialist Medical Practitioner in Palliative Care Medicine in Australia (AHPRA)
• FRACP or FAChPM or equivalent consultant qualification
• Credentialed experience in multidisciplinary specialist practice in inpatient, consultative, clinic and community settings
• Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team
• Organisational ability, both personal organisation and ability to supervise
• Willingness to participate in teaching and research projects
• Current Driver’s Licence
• Research qualification (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality specialist Palliative Care services to patients in the South-West Sydney Local Government Area.
• Maintain personal professional competence in Palliative Care.
• Work within healthcare teams and with other senior medical staff, reflecting HammondCare’s Mission and Mission-in-Action.
• Undertake teaching of medical students and trainee doctors and pursue research opportunities.
