Job summary

InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort is seeking a Full Time Painter to join the Engineering team. You will maintain the presentation of luxury guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, event spaces, and exterior facilities while upholding InterContinental standards.

The role offers variety, autonomy and the opportunity to contribute to a premier resort destination in Queensland, with Monday to Friday work pattern and emphasis on safety, quality finishes, and collaboration with multiple

Qualifications

Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating or equivalent trade qualification.
Previous experience in commercial, hospitality, or facilities maintenance painting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and safe use of tools, equipment, and materials.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Physical capability for manual tasks including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders and working across a large resort environment.
Valid Driver's Licence (Class C preferred).

Responsibilities

Carrying out painting works across guestrooms, public areas, furniture, equipment, walls, floors, and resort facilities.
Preparing surfaces through plaster repairs, rendering, crack repairs, sanding, and patching work.
Performing both interior and exterior painting projects across the resort.
Assisting with furniture restoration and polishing preparation works.
Maintaining paint, equipment, and material inventory levels.
Supporting resort events through decorative and presentation-related projects.
Monitoring the quality of work completed by external contractors where required.
Ensuring all work areas are maintained safely, cleanly, and professionally, particularly within guest-facing areas.
Working collaboratively with the Engineering team and broader resort departments to support operational and guest needs.

We are currently seeking a Full Time Painter to join our Engineering team, working predominantly Monday to Friday.

About the Role

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you'll play a key role in maintaining the presentation and appearance of our luxury resort. From guest rooms and public areas to restaurants, event spaces, and exterior buildings, your craftsmanship will help ensure our property continues to meet the exceptional standards expected of the InterContinental brand.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a trade-qualified painter who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working in a dynamic and varied environment.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Certificate IV in Painting and Decorating or equivalent trade qualification.
Previous experience in commercial, hospitality, or facilities maintenance painting.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices and safe use of tools, equipment, and materials.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
A positive attitude and strong sense of ownership over your work.
Physical capability to undertake manual tasks including lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and working across a large resort environment.
Valid Driver's Licence (Class C preferred, not essential).
