Job summary

YEM Technology Pty Ltd. is seeking experienced Painters and Blasters to join the Sino Iron Project on an ongoing 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth. The role is based at Cape Preston, WA, with 12-hour shifts and a paid lunch break.

You will abrasive blast, prep surfaces, apply protective coatings, read paint specs, and maintain spray equipment while working at heights and in confined spaces. A strong safety mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Painting and Decorating (Cert III) or equivalent.
• Industrial painting and blasting experience in mining preferred.
• High Risk Work Licence (EWP/WP + LF) and safety certificates incl. Heights/Confined Spaces/Gas Atmospheres.
• Construction White Card and valid driver’s licence.
• Full Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Abrasive blasting and surface preparation to specification.
• Selecting, mixing and applying protective coatings and industrial paint systems.
• Reading and following paint specs, technical data sheets and mixing procedures.
• Setting up, cleaning and maintaining spray and blasting equipment.
• Working at heights and in confined spaces as required.
• Comply with safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.

YEM Technology is looking for experienced Painters and Blasters to join our team at the Sino Iron Project on an ongoing 2:1 FIFO roster ex Perth.

YEM Technology is a Western Australian maintenance, commissioning, construction and electrical company specialising in fixed plant maintenance, shutdown maintenance, greenfield and brownfield SMPE&I construction services across the mining and mineral processing sectors.

About the Role

This is a permanent and casual opportunity based at Cape Preston, WA, working a 2:1 roster (one week days, one week nights, one week off). Shifts are 12 hours, including a 30-minute paid lunch break.

What You Will Be Doing

• Abrasive blasting and surface preparation to specification
• Selecting, mixing and applying protective coatings and industrial paint systems
• Reading and following paint specs, technical data sheets and mixing procedures
• Setting up, cleaning and maintaining spray and blasting equipment
• Working at heights and in confined spaces as required
• Comply with safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment

What We're Looking For

• Australian recognised Trade Certificate in Painting and Decorating (Cert III) or equivalent trade certification
• Demonstrated industrial or mining painting and blasting experience
• High Risk Work Licence (EWP/WP + LF)
• Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Gas Test Atmospheres certificates
• Construction "White" Card
• Full Australian Working Rights
• Valid driver's licence
• Comfortable wearing a 3M 7500 mask while working, clean-shaven

What We Offer

• FULL TIME : $51.15 ph
• CASUAL: $63.94 ph
• NIGHT SHIFT ALLOWANCE: $7.67 ph
• Site allowance paid in addition to hourly wages
• Ongoing 2:1 roster with permanent and casual opportunities
