Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking a Paediatric Registrar to join our inpatient team from February 2027 for 6–12 months. The role is temporary full-time, with six-week rosters, night shifts, and protected teaching time, offering broad clinical exposure and strong supervision.

You will rotate across the children’s ward, Special Care Nursery, and Hospital in the Home, with weekly teaching and a structured RACP Advanced Training pathway in General Paediatrics.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Medical Practitioner in Australia.
• Experience in inpatient paediatric care including patient assessment and discharge planning.
• Effective communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to high-quality clinical care and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver supervised clinical care in inpatient settings including assessment, investigations, management and discharge planning.
• Participate in paediatric inpatient care with daily ward reviews and family liaison.
• Support continuity of care through referrals and coordination with community providers.
• Provide clinical input for acute presentations and emergency consultations.
