Job summary

OHV's Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne is seeking two Paediatric Dental Residents for 2027, offering an immersive year to gain paediatric experience beyond general dentistry.

You will work within the Specialist Paediatric Dentistry Team, with exposure to complex cases, theatre sessions under GA, telehealth, and teaching opportunities.

The program aims to prepare for specialist training or high-paediatric-volume general practice, with strong mentorship and support.

Qualifications

• Dental qualification eligible for registration with AHPRA.
• Experience treating children and working within a large multidisciplinary team.
• Two years of general dental experience since graduation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide paediatric dental care under supervision and within competency.
• Support paediatric theatre sessions for procedures, including GA as applicable.
• Engage in telehealth consultations and triage for paediatric patients.
• Contribute to clinical administration of the Paediatric Dentistry Unit.
• Teach and mentor junior colleagues as confidence grows.
