Job summary

Sydney Children's Hospitals Network (SCHN) in Westmead is seeking a Clinical Psychologist for a temporary part-time role. You will provide psychological assessment and therapy to children and young people referred by the neuromuscular teams.

Collaborate with staff specialists, clinical nurse consultants and allied health professionals to support families toward optimal medical and psychological wellbeing. You will participate in education sessions, service development and mandatory training.

Qualifications

• Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia in Clinical Psychology or eligible to progress to same.
• Minimum two-year full-time equivalent accredited postgraduate Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
• Experience in paediatric psychological assessment and therapy.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated professional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of emotional, social and behavioural issues in children with neuromuscular conditions.
• Demonstrated research skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychological assessment, intervention, and therapeutic services to children and young people referred by neuromuscular teams.
