Job summary

The Kids Research Institute Australia is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Cancer Preclinical Core Team in Perth. You will test new anti-cancer compounds and combination therapies in paediatric cancer models, supporting translation from discovery science to the clinic at Perth Children’s Hospital.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's with Honours in a related field, have experience with mouse models, and possess strong technical and collaborative skills to thrive in a multidisciplinary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with Honours (or equivalent) in cancer biology, molecular biology, biomedical science, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with mouse models and a commitment to animal and GMO research under strict ethical/regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical, analytical and computer skills for applying lab techniques to research.
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Test new anti-cancer compounds and combination therapies in paediatric cancer models.
• Work within a translational bridge between discovery science teams and the clinic to move promising treatments toward clinical trials.
