Job summary

Mind Matters Cairns is seeking an Allied Health Assistant or a New Graduate Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary paediatric practice in Cairns. In this role you will support children with motor, sensory and emotional development through engaging, play-based therapy and work closely with an Occupational Therapist to deliver tailored programs.

Qualifications

• Experience or interest in paediatric therapy is desirable.
• Ability to work under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Current Working with Children Card or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 3-12 years to develop motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation and daily living skills.
• Plan and deliver play-based therapeutic activities tailored to each child.
• Work with an Occupational Therapist to implement therapy programs.
• Complete OT assessments, develop intervention plans and provide therapy.
• Collaborate with families, educators and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and progress notes.
• Contribute to a positive, creative team environment.
