Job summary

SunRice's CopRice division in Cobden is seeking a reliable Packing/Production Operator to join the team. You will produce bagged feed products, operate packing equipment and support mill operations, ensuring safety, quality and GMP/HACCP standards are met.

Standard hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm with occasional shift work. You will complete production records, coordinate raw materials, perform equipment checks and contribute to a safe, efficient and collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift Licence required.
• GMP and HACCP understanding essential.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics or feed milling.
• Experience using SAP systems.
• Ability to assess product quality and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor bagging/packing equipment safely.
• Run packing machines and production line activities.
• Perform pre-start equipment checks and monitor performance.
• Change configurations for different products.
• Conduct quality checks to meet specifications.
• General cleaning and housekeeping for safety.
• Support backfill in the Mill when needed.
• Coordinate raw material needs and loading of orders.
• Complete production records and stock counts.
• Follow GMP, HACCP and safety procedures.

CopRice is the animal foods division of SunRice and is a leading supplier of nutrition products to the companion animal and livestock sectors. CopRice has been supplying quality feeds for animals for over 30 years through plants in Leeton, Tongala, Leongatha, Gunnedah, Wangaratta, Cobden and Hamilton (NZ).

About The Role

As a Packing/Production Operator, you'll be responsible for producing the right quality and quantity of bagged feed products while ensuring all safety, quality and operational standards are met. This is a varied role that involves operating packing equipment, supporting mill operations, and helping keep production running smoothly.

Standard hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor bagging and packing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Run packing machines and complete production line activities.
• Conduct pre-start equipment checks and monitor equipment performance.
• Change machine configurations to accommodate different products.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• General cleaning and housekeeping to maintain a safe work environment.
• Support and provide backfill assistance in the Mill when required.
• Coordinate raw material requirements and loading of customer orders.
• Accurately complete production records and stock counts.
• Follow all safety, quality, GMP and HACCP procedures.

You are a reliable team player with a strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement. You enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are willing to learn new skills across different areas of the operation.

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience operating machinery or production equipment.
• Experience working in manufacturing, food production, feed milling or similar environments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and product quality issues.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Flexibility to work shift work when required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Current Forklift Licence.
• Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP.
• Warehouse and logistics experience.
• SAP experience (highly regarded).
• Experience assessing product quality and consistency.
