Job summary

SGS is seeking a Packaging Project Manager to lead the delivery of new packaging line projects within a major FMCG manufacturing facility. You will drive design through commissioning, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence, while coordinating with engineering, operations, maintenance and quality teams.

The role requires hands-on work in live manufacturing, strong stakeholder management, and fluent English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing or related discipline.
  • Significant experience managing packaging line installation and capital projects in FMCG/food/beverage/dairy consumer goods environments.
  • Proven experience coordinating OEMs, suppliers, contractors and commissioning teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of new packaging line installation projects.
  • Manage equipment suppliers and OEMs through design, FAT, installation, SAT, commissioning and startup phases.
  • Coordinate site execution activities, contractors and key stakeholders to meet schedule and budget.
  • Drive project planning, scheduling, budgeting and risk management activities.
  • Monitor progress and ensure compliance with quality, safety and operational standards.
  • Support packaging line performance ramp-up and operational readiness.
  • Manage project documentation, reporting and stakeholder communications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality and supply chain teams to ensure successful handover to site operations.

Job description

Packaging Project Manager

to support a major manufacturing transformation and expansion program within a leading FMCG production facility. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of new packaging line projects from design through commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of new packaging line installation projects.

  • Manage equipment suppliers and OEMs through design, FAT, installation, SAT, commissioning, and startup phases.

  • Coordinate site execution activities, contractors, and key stakeholders.

  • Drive project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management activities.

  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.

  • Support packaging line performance ramp-up and operational readiness.

  • Manage project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communications.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.

  • Ensure successful handover of projects to site operations.


Required Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.

  • Significant experience managing packaging line installation and capital projects within FMCG, food, beverage, dairy, or consumer goods manufacturing environments.

  • Proven experience managing OEMs, suppliers, contractors, and commissioning teams.

  • Strong understanding of FAT, SAT, equipment installation, commissioning, and startup processes.

  • Experience with budget control, project scheduling, and risk management.

  • Ability to work hands-on in a live manufacturing environment.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Fluency in English is mandatory.

  • Dairy, food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing projects.
