Job summary

Calvary Christian College Townsville, a co-educational independent Christian school, is seeking a Casual Brass Tutor to support our PACA program and inspire student musicians from Term 1, 2027.

You will lead brass ensembles, collaborate with the Creative Arts Coordinator, and contribute to a positive, values-based workplace with above-Award hourly rates and access to employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experienced brass tutor and music educator.
• Strong musicianship, literacy, and ability to arrange music.

Salary and Benefits...

As a Casual Brass Tutor, you will receive a competitive above-Award hourly rate of $62.50 per hour, based on your qualifications and relevant experience.

What we are looking for?

It this role it is essential that you hold a current positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and relevant experience

You will have:

• Be an experienced brass tutor and music educator.
• Demonstrate strong musicianship, including music literacy and the ability to adapt or arrange music where required.
• Have experience in leading and directing bands and ensembles
• Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Work collaboratively and positively within a team environment.
• Be reliable, professional and punctual.
• Be passionate about developing students' confidence, skills and enjoyment of music.
• Share a commitment to supporting and expanding a thriving performing arts culture within the College.
• Conduct ensembles for College performances and events.
• Collaborate with the Creative Arts Coordinator regarding performance planning.
• Proven ability to work in a cooperative, flexible and professional manner with children, parents and other team members
• Satisfactory level of computer literacy with proven capacity in MS Office Suite, and other software/programs in common use for education.
• Current First Aid and CPR.
