Job summary

Department of Health, Tasmania seeks an experienced Nurse Unit Manager for Surgical Outpatient Services. The role coordinates high-quality patient care across assessment, pre- and post-operative pathways, and non-surgical treatment options.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive service improvements, and support clinic operations and patient education. The role offers permanent full-time hours (76 per fortnight) with a view to progression to ANUM and a focus on safety and patient-centred

Qualifications

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwives Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
• Desirable: relevant postgraduate qualification.
• Proven ability to coordinate clinical care in outpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality outpatient patient care.
• Support clinic operations and patient flow.
• Educate patients and families about care plans.
• Manage cases for patients with complex needs and non-surgical pathways.
• Provide leadership and support to clinical, clerical and technical staff.
• Drive quality improvement, safety and evidence-based practice.
