Job summary

Sims Limited is seeking a motivated Operator for our Cairns recycling facility. Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will assist with movement, sorting, and processing of recyclables, while operating a range of mobile plant and equipment in an outdoor environment. The role requires a safety-conscious mindset and the ability to work as part of a hardworking team committed to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile plant or heavy machinery in an industrial setting.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe operating procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load, unload, and move materials around the site.
• Sort, grade, and process metals as required.
• Assist with receival, processing, and dispatch of recyclable materials.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
