Job summary

Hitech Asia Pacific is seeking an experienced OS Hardening Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen enterprise server security across Windows and Linux, implementing CIS Benchmark Level 1 controls and IaC through Puppet.

This long-term contract role, based in Hobart or Melbourne, involves developing Puppet configurations, managing GitHub changes, and ensuring system stability and application compatibility.

Qualifications

• CIS Benchmark Level 1 hardening experience.
• Experience translating security requirements into maintainable configurations.
• Enterprise server security hardening across Windows and Linux.

Long-term contract opportunity in Hobart or Melbourne

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced OS Hardening Engineer / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen enterprise server security through the implementation of CIS Benchmark Level 1 hardening controls. You will work across Windows and Linux environments, translating security requirements into maintainable configurations while ensuring system stability and application compatibility.

The successful OS Hardening Engineer will be offered a contract until 30th June 2027 with the view to be extended, based in Hobart or Melbourne.

The successful OS Hardening Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Implement CIS Benchmark Level 1 security hardening across Windows and Linux servers.
• Develop, maintain and test Puppet configurations using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Manage configuration changes through GitHub, including pull requests and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot hardening impacts and support testing, remediation and controlled deployment.

The successful OS Hardening Engineer will have experience in the following:

• Puppet, Hiera, roles and profiles, configuration management and code testing.
• Windows Server and Linux administration, troubleshooting and security configuration.
• Git, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code and change-controlled deployments.
• CIS Benchmarks, operating system hardening and enterprise security baseline implementation.
