Job summary

SA Health in Adelaide, Australia, is seeking an Orthoptist to provide effective assessment and management of amblyopia, refractive error, strabismus and other Orthoptic conditions following evidence-based practice.

Key responsibilities include liaising with senior staff on complex cases, contributing to contact lens services, administration and departmental teaching; supporting a positive culture and safe work environment within the Ophthalmology department; and utilising the Employee Assistance

Qualifications

• Appropriate degree or Master’s Degree qualification in Orthoptics which entitles registration with the Australian Orthoptic Board (AOB).

Responsibilities

• Provide effective Orthoptic assessment and management services for amblyopia, refractive error, strabismus and other Orthoptic conditions using evidence-based practice.
• Liaise with senior staff on complex cases and contribute to contact lens services, administration and departmental teaching.
• Support and actively participate in a positive culture and safe work environment within the Ophthalmology department.

Education

Orthoptics degree or Masters in Orthoptics
