Job summary

NSW Health in Griffith is seeking a Visiting Medical Officer in Orthopaedic Surgery to deliver contemporary, evidence-based surgical services and high-quality patient-centred care at Griffith Base Hospital. The role includes clinical leadership, governance participation, and active involvement in safety and quality initiatives.

The position requires registration as a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with the Medical Board of Australia or equivalent pathways, with a track record in leadership,

Qualifications

• Holds registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Orthopaedic surgeon or equivalent pathways recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
• Strong clinical communication skills across written, verbal and interpersonal domains.
• Proven experience in leading teams and contributing to teaching, research and quality improvement.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rosters and respond on site timely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver contemporary, evidence-based orthopaedic surgical services ensuring safe, high-quality patient-centred care across MLHD.
• Provide clinical leadership and contribute to patient safety, quality improvement and risk management initiatives.
• Supervise and support junior medical officers and other clinicians; foster multidisciplinary collaboration and governance participation.
