Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Staff Nurse for the NOFU Orthopaedics to join a multidisciplinary team. You will participate in admission and discharge processes for both short and long stay patients, and provide high-quality pre- and post-operative nursing care.

The role requires strong nursing skills, a collaborative approach with the MDT, and support for student nurses in the workplace.

Qualifications

• Orthopaedic experience is essential.
• Experience with admission and discharge of patients (short and long stay).
• Pre- and post-operative care.
• Ability to work with MDT and support student nurses.

Responsibilities

• Participate in maintaining a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for all patients and carers and maintain agreed standards of nursing care.
• Determines nursing priorities and plans patient care; informs nurse in charge when changes affect patient care.
• Maintain nursing records in accordance with NMC and Trust Guidelines.
• Maintain and improve quality of patient care through Essence of Care and clinical benchmarking within the unit.
• Ensure due regard is given to customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients.
• Providing information and support to patients/carers.
