Job summary

Vision Australia is seeking expressions of interest from optometrists to contribute to a new service pilot in Mornington, Victoria, delivering local low vision care.

Qualifications

• Base Salary = $54.15 ph + Superannuation + Salary Packaging up to $15.9k

Vision Australia is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified optometrists interested in contributing to a new service pilot in Mornington, Victoria.

About the pilot

The Mornington pilot will provide local access to Vision Australia services for people who are blind or have low vision across the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding region.

The pilot is exploring a sustainable community-based model that supports earlier access to Vision Australia and its broader multidisciplinary services.

About the opportunity

• Initially approximately two days per week, with flexibility regarding the days worked.
• The successful optometrist(s) would be employed by Vision Australia.
• Vision Australia services would be provided from Peninsula Eye Centre, Mornington.
• The optometrist will contribute to the initial clinical pathway, including assessment of vision and functional needs, identification of appropriate supports, and connection with Vision Australia's broader multidisciplinary services.

Who we would like to hear from

We welcome expressions of interest from optometrists with an interest in low vision, blindness care and improving access to multidisciplinary services. Previous experience in low vision care would be highly regarded, but is not essential for optometrists with a strong interest in developing their skills and involvement in this area.
