Job summary

UTS is seeking an Operations Officer to provide general administrative and operational support across the Faculty, helping ensure efficient management and service delivery.

You will assist the Operations Manager and Senior Operations Officer with travel, procurement, events, onboarding, safety, compliance and CAD support, while maintaining resources and responding to queries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar systems.
  • High-level planning and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative, travel and expense, procurement and project support.

  • Ensure resources, workspace consumables and common areas are maintained.

About the Role

The Operations Officer is responsible for providing general administrative and operational activities to the Faculty to support the effective and efficient operational management of the Faculty. The Operations Officer is a generalist role that supports the Operations Manager and Senior Operations Officer.

If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing a range of general administrative, travel and expense, procurement and project support.
  • Coordinating events, induction and onboarding activities for staff and contractors.
  • Supporting safety, risk and compliance activities
  • Providing Casual Academic Contract (CAD) support including processing and training.
  • Ensuring the physical resources, workspace consumables and common areas are appropriate and maintained.
  • Managing the resolution of a range of queries as they arise in a timely manner relating to administrative, HR or financial systems, students, visitors, facilities or staff matters.

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar administrative role in a large, complex and high-pressured environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute complex tasks with a keen attention to detail, especially while under pressure
  • Excellent computer skills, including the use of databases and common office software packages (including Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel) and ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar systems
  • High-level planning and critical thinking skills.

Base Salary Range: $85,165 - $97,429 pa (HEW 5)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until February 2027
