Job summary

Goldstar Transport is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its Long-Haul operations, ensuring safe and reliable service delivery while driving commercial outcomes. This senior role requires coaching a high-performing team and overseeing planning, budgeting, and KPI-driven performance across people, fleet and customers.

You will partner with the Senior Leadership Team to strengthen operations, manage risks and build capability for sustainable growth in Western Australia.

Qualifications

• At least five years' senior experience in transport, logistics, or a comparable operational environment.
• Proven leadership experience in a complex transport operation, ideally Long Haul, linehaul or multi-site road transport.
• Strong commercial acumen, with accountability for budgets, costs, productivity, utilisation, KPIs and profitability.
• The ability to lead, develop and hold operational teams accountable for safety, service and performance outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic and day-to-day performance of Long-Haul operations, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable service delivery.
• Own operational and commercial performance, including revenue, profitability, productivity, fleet utilisation and cost control.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, capability and continuous improvement.
• Drive workforce and capacity planning to meet current and future customer and operational requirements.
• Identify and manage operational, commercial and capacity risks that may affect service delivery or business performance.
• Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
• Champion a strong safety, compliance and risk culture across all Long-Haul operations.
• Improve processes, systems, scheduling and asset utilisation to lift operational performance.
• Use meaningful operational and financial KPIs to support sound decisions and sustained results.
• Provide calm, decisive leadership during disruptions, critical incidents and competing priorities.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Long-Haul operations. This is a key leadership role with accountability for safe and reliable service delivery, team performance and commercial outcomes. What you will bring

• At least five years' senior experience in transport, logistics or a comparable operational environment.

• Demonstrated success managing key customer relationships, service performance and commercial discussions in a B2B environment.
• The ability to lead, develop and hold operational teams accountable for safety, service and performance outcomes.
• A strong understanding of fleet scheduling, load planning, transport productivity and asset utilisation.
