Job summary

Agri Appointments is recruiting on behalf of a Western Sydney stockfeed manufacturer for an experienced operational leader. You will oversee the broader operation, coordinating suppliers, logistics, administration, people, quality systems and improvement projects to fuel growth.

Reporting to senior management, you will drive KPIs, lead two administration staff, and work with a nutritionist for formulations and quality improvements, including capital projects and accreditation initiatives.

• Operational leadership experience in stockfeed, grain, food or related manufacturing.
• Commercial confidence dealing with suppliers, logistics providers and technical advisers.
• Strong people leadership, planning, problem-solving and performance-management skills.
• Experience with quality systems, capital projects and operational improvement.

Job description

Our Client

Our client is an established Australian-owned stockfeed manufacturer based in Western Sydney. The business formulates, manufactures and distributes bulk and packaged feeds for a wide range of livestock, producing approximately 2,500 to 3,000 tonnes each month. Continued growth in packaged feed is creating an attractive opportunity for an experienced operational leader.

The Role

Reporting to senior management and working closely with the Production Manager, this position will oversee the broader operation beyond day-to-day production. You will coordinate suppliers, logistics, administration, people, quality systems and improvement projects while helping prepare the business for its next stage of growth.

• Manage relationships with grain agents and other ingredient suppliers.
• Oversee raw-material deliveries, finished-feed dispatch and site logistics.
• Lead two administration staff and support effective recruitment and performance management.
• Set meaningful KPIs and drive accountability, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Work closely with the consulting nutritionist on formulations and operational requirements.
• Plan and deliver mill upgrades, capital projects and quality-system improvements, including SFMCA accreditation.

About You

• Proven operational leadership experience in stockfeed, grain, food, feed or a related manufacturing environment.
• Commercial confidence dealing with suppliers, logistics providers and technical advisers.
• Strong people leadership, planning, problem-solving and performance-management skills.
• Experience with quality systems, capital projects and operational improvement.
• Practical, visible and hands-on, with the maturity to lead across an established family business.
