Job summary

Glencore's Collinsville Open Cut in North Queensland seeks an experienced Operational Technology Systems Engineer to monitor and maintain OT networks and coordinate with vendors for reliable operation.

You will work on fleet management, automation, and communications systems across the site, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a hands-on mining environment.

Qualifications

• Hold a relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary engineering qualification.
• Experience in mining OT, fleet management, dispatch, automation, communications, or industrial-control systems.
• Knowledge of IT networking and system administration is desirable.
• Experience with dispatch platforms such as Modular Mining, MineStar, Hexagon, Mineware, or Wenco is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot fleet-management and dispatch applications, field hardware and supporting networks.
• Lead, maintain and develop automation equipment and communications systems across the operation, including industrial communications, wireless and radio networks, servers and workstations, OT cybersecurity controls and change management.
• Maintain a strong focus on system reliability and supervise personnel as required to drive continuous improvement for safe, efficient mine-site outputs.

Located approximately 160 km from Airlie Beach in North Queensland, the operation combines the experience of an established mine with a workforce focused on getting the job done safely and effectively. Reporting to the Engineering and Planning Superintendent, we are seeking an experienced Operational Technology Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. This multifaceted, site-based role will monitor and maintain the health of onsite OT networks and work with external vendors to ensure these systems operate efficiently and reliably.

In this role, you will: support and troubleshoot fleet-management and dispatch applications, field hardware, and supporting networks; lead, maintain, and develop automation equipment and communications systems across the operation, including industrial communications, wireless and radio networks, servers, workstations, OT cybersecurity controls, and technical change management; and maintain a strong focus on system reliability, supervising personnel as required and driving continuous improvement to ensure technology systems support safe, efficient mine-site outputs.

To succeed, you will hold a relevant trade qualification and/or tertiary engineering qualification, supported by practical experience in network design and management. You will have experience in mining OT, fleet management, dispatch, automation, communications, or industrial-control systems. Knowledge of IT networking and system administration is desirable. Experience with Modular Mining, Caterpillar MineStar, Hexagon, Mineware, Wenco, or similar dispatch platforms is highly regarded. Experience with SCADA, PLCs, industrial Ethernet or wireless networks, Windows/Linux systems, OT cybersecurity, and data-analysis tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Excel will be advantageous.

You will be safety-foused, able to troubleshoot under operational pressure, and confident communicating with operators, dispatchers, supervisors, suppliers, and technical teams.
