Job summary

Savers Footscray store is seeking a part-time Donation Assistant to greet donors, handle donations with care and share how contributions support our not-for-profit partners.

Join a fast‑moving, customer‑facing team, help meet daily targets, uphold safety, and educate customers about Savers' reuse mission while showing appreciation for every donor and parcel. Availability: Monday to Sunday 9am–9pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or retail is preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
• Genuine care for customers and donors, with a friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors and thank them for their donation.
• Handle donations with care and respect.
• Educate donors about the work of Savers' not-for-profit partners.
• Share the Savers story and purpose to champion reuse.
• Work with the team to meet daily production targets and uphold safety.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager on Duty or On‑Site Donation Captain at our Footscray store, you will be responsible for accepting donations (treasures!) on behalf of our not‑for‑profit partners. You will wow our donors with your gratitude, helping them understand how their donation makes a difference and educating them on the wonderful work of our not‑for‑profit partners. A typical day might include:

• Greeting donors, thanking them for their donation
• Handling all donations with care and respect
• Educating donors and customers on the work of our not‑for‑profit partners
• Proudly embracing our purpose to Champion Reuse
• Sharing the Savers story
• Working with your team to make sure you all meet daily production targets
• Supporting our safety culture

About You

To ensure you can hit the ground running, you will have a mix of the following:

• Availability for part‑time hours – Monday to Sunday between 9am - 9pm
• A team player – you love working in a team, and enjoy helping others to meet team goals
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment – you might have worked in retail, production, warehousing or hospitality
