Job summary

Rydges Hotels & Resorts in South Brisbane, QLD, is seeking an experienced AV technician to support audio-visual experiences across meetings and events. This casual role offers flexible hours and the chance to work on diverse projects throughout EVT’s hotel and entertainment network.

You'll install, configure and operate a wide range of AV equipment, provide real-time technical support, and collaborate with event organisers and hotel teams to ensure smooth guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and troubleshooting AV equipment such as soundboards, lighting controls, projectors and video conferencing systems.
• Able to explain AV concepts clearly to non-technical clients.
• Willing to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and operate AV equipment for meetings, conferences and events.
• Provide on-the-spot technical support during events and diagnose issues quickly.
• Maintain inventory records and perform regular checks and repairs on AV gear.
• Collaborate with event organisers and hotel teams to plan setups per event schedule.
• Assist in training staff and clients on AV system use and best practices.
• Document setups, log equipment usage and conduct monthly audits.
• Ensure safety standards and EVT policies are followed during setups.
