Job summary

The Visiting Medical Officer will join the Medical Forensic Unit at Nepean Hospital in Penrith, NSW. This zero-hours role requires on-call participation and registration with AHPRA; credentials across NBMLHD facilities may apply.

The appointee will assess and manage patients within the unit, contribute to teaching, and work within a multidisciplinary team to support best practice in forensic medicine.

Qualifications

• Registration with AHPRA is required/essential.
• Fellow of the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine or equivalent recognition is required.
• Evidence of continued medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices is expected.
• Sound clinical knowledge in Clinical Forensic Medicine demonstrated by clinical practice.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and supervise junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the Medical Forensic Unit.
• Participate in the on-call roster and NBMLHD on-call response.
• Potential credentialing and privileging across NBMLHD facilities.
• Commitment to teaching and supervision of junior medical staff.
