Peninsula Health is seeking a Community Mental Health Clinician for the Older Adult CMHT on the Mornington Peninsula. The role involves planning, evaluating and reviewing care for older adults with severe mental health needs, with emphasis on face-to-face assessments and recovery planning.

The position supports collaboration with external services and an internal multidisciplinary team, with opportunities arising from the Bayside Health merger and hospital redevelopment.

Qualifications

• Nursing/ Allied health professionals with APHRA registration.
• Experience in assessment, crisis intervention and recovery frameworks.
• Mental health practice across inpatient or community settings.

Classification: RPN GRADE 3 YEAR 1-4 (NP81-NP74)*, OCC THER GR2 YR1-4 (YB20-YB23)*, QUAL SOC WKR GR2 YR1-4 (YC42-YC45)*, PSYCHOLOGIST GR2 YR1-4 (PK1-PK4)

On 1 January 2026 five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) came together to create Bayside Health. What You Will Be Doing
The Older Adult Community Mental Health Team is a specialist multi-disciplinary and integrated service that provides a broad range of interventions, care coordination and support for older people experiencing severe and persistent mental health disorders and theircarers.

The Older Adult Mental Health Clinician will plan, evaluate and review care, undertaking face-to-face assessments and contributing to recovery care plans. The role requires frequent liaison with external services and internal multi-disciplinary team.

What You Need
We anticipate you will have:

∙ Qualifications as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist with relevant APHRA registration RPN ONLY: Post graduate qualification in Mental Health or specialist undergraduate Mental Health program.
∙ Proven ability in the management of clients with a major mental health illness and in the techniques of assessment and crisis intervention, and recovery frameworks.
∙ Extensive experience in the mental health field including acute inpatient services and/or community mental health care
