Job summary

Everyday Independence in Deakin, ACT, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide life-changing OT to NDIS participants. A full-time, part-time (4 days) or 9-day fortnight arrangement is available, with a base salary and generous extras.

Expect supervision, mentoring, and opportunities to specialise. You’ll work across homes, schools, workplaces and communities to maximise NDIS funding and participant outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • General AHPRA Registration.
  • A positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Strong communication skills and a team player.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Experience working in NDIS/disability is preferred, however not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Working in the social model across homes, schools, playgrounds and community centres.
  • Creating therapy plans using an evidence-based assessment to support NDIS goals.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of allied health professionals.
  • Building meaningful relationships with participants and supports.
  • Attending weekly team meetings in the Hub and sharing insights.

Job title - Occupational Therapist

Location - Deakin

Employment Type - Full time, Part time (4 days per week) or 9-day fortnight

Salary -$82,106 – $110,143 per annum (inclusive of annual leave loading) + superannuation + vehicle options + mobile + laptop + options to boost salary up to $10,000

Supervision and Support – Valued at up to $22,000

Caseload - Opportunities to specialise in paediatrics, youth or adult streams

Professional Development – PD allowance negotiable
Formal learning opportunities available through registered training organisations and universities

About The Role

We are looking for Occupational Therapists to provide life-changing occupational therapy to NDIS participants. This position is ideal if you are seeking a full-time position, however part-time would also be considered.

As an Occupational Therapist at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:

  • Working in the social model means you’ll work in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, workplaces, and community centres
  • Utilizing an evidence-based measurement tool and your skills in assessment, you'll create therapy plans and provide life-changing occupational therapy to support participants in achieving their goals and maximizing NDIS funding
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team of passionate and dedicated allied health professionals
  • Building meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
  • Attend weekly team meetings in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
  • You’ll tap into the knowledge and support of your Team Leader and dedicated Therapy Mentor
