Job summary

MediRecruit is seeking a passionate Community Occupational Therapist to join a growing allied health team in Hervey Bay, QLD. This mobile community role supports clients in their homes and local communities across NDIS, Aged Care and DVA, with flexible hours Monday to Friday.

You will complete functional assessments, deliver capacity-building programs, prescribe home modifications and assistive technology, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance.
• Minimum 1–2 years' experience (preferred).
• NDIS or community experience valued but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete functional assessments and ADL support.
• Deliver capacity-building programs in home and community settings.
• Prescribe home modifications and assistive technology.
• Provide neurorehabilitation for stroke, ABI, cerebral palsy and progressive conditions.
• Coordinate care across NDIS, Aged Care, DVA and other funding streams.
• Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Community Occupational Therapist to join a growing multidisciplinary allied health team in Hervey Bay, QLD. In this mobile community role, you will help clients improve independence, function and quality of life within their own homes and communities, working across a diverse caseload spanning NDIS, Support at Home (formerly HCP), DVA, Private Health and WorkCover. Flexible full-time or part-time hours are available Monday to Friday, and both early-career and experienced OTs are encouraged to apply.

• Complete functional assessments and ADL support
• Deliver capacity building programs in home and community settings
• Prescribe home modifications and assistive technology

• Coordinate care and advocate for clients across NDIS, Aged Care, DVA and other funding streams
• Collaborate with a supportive multidisciplinary team

About You:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current AHPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance
• Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience (preferred)
• Community or NDIS experience (highly regarded but not essential)
• Strong communication skills and a genuine people-focused approach
• Self-motivated with initiative and a collaborative team approach
• Valid Blue Card / Working with Children Check (or eligible to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or eligible to obtain)
• Eligible to work in Australia
