Salary: Salary between $76 056 and $104,753 per annum dependent on experience.

About the opportunity

Join the Occupational Therapy (OT) team at Mercy Care Centre, Young NSW. We provide public hospital OT services to acute & sub-acute inpatients, adult community, and community paediatric clients. Fantastic opportunity to enjoy the beautiful town of Young and utilise and build your clinical skills.

  • Role is rural generalist and is rotational – opportunity exists to develop skills across rotations including: inpatients & rehabilitation, community adults & Transitional Aged Care Program, and paediatric outpatient caseloads.
  • You will deliver NSW Health funded health services and provide essential, evidence based, effective and quality health care to the Hilltops district in NSW.
  • Regular supervision provided and internal and external professional development supported.
  • New graduates encouraged to apply.
  • Be part of a large multi-disciplinary team which provides highly responsive and flexible service to consumers and carers. Our OT team includes a senior OT, two Level 1-2 OTs and two Allied Health Assistants.
  • Young is a wine and cherry area; 2hrs from Canberra, Wagga or Orange; 4 hours to the snow. Young is a welcoming rural town offering sport, culture, tourist and adventure opportunities. Relocation allowance may apply.

  • 1. Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy with current registration with AHPRA
  • 2. Demonstrated experience working with young people with an emerging major mental disorder, including UHR for psychosis
  • 3. Demonstrated experience working in a community mental health setting
  • 4. Understanding and demonstrated experience in provision of evidence-based interventions for emerging mental disorders, including UHR for psychosis
  • 5. Highly developed skills in engagement and therapeutic alliance
  • 6. Experience in providing comprehensive mental health assessment, formulation and treatment planning
  • 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • 8. Current unrestricted NSW drivers licence (Class C - Unrestricted)
