Job summary

Dorset Rehabilitation is seeking a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist for a casual role to join our experienced OT team in rehabilitation services. The successful applicant should be innovative, self-starting and flexible to meet the needs of a busy service with a mixed caseload.

Join a dedicated team delivering inpatient and outpatient services across orthopaedics, neurology, cardiac, falls and balance, hydrotherapy and home rehab, with a commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centred

Qualifications

• Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is required.
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and manage a mixed caseload.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Educate patients and carers for recovery and discharge planning or end-of-life needs.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to maintain case-mix and registration requirements.
• Coordinate with the allied health team, therapy assistants, nursing and non-clinical staff to deliver care.

About the role:

An exciting opportunity is available for a motivated and passionate clinician to join our highly experienced OT team on a casual basis. The successful applicant will be innovative, a self‑starter and flexible in their approach to meeting the challenges of a busy and exciting service and carry a mixed caseload.

At Dorset Rehabilitation, we offer an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient services in various specialties including orthopaedics, neurology, cardiac, falls and balance, hydrotherapy, rehab in the home and pain management. Key Responsibilities:

• You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified goals and health outcomes. The Occupational Therapist will contribute to the coordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the allied health team, therapy assistants, nursing and non-clinical staff providing direct and indirect clinical input, direction and guidance
• Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carer/family for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation, discharge plans or end of life needs
• Commit to an ongoing learning and professional development portfolio to ensure case mix requirements are supported, and registration requirements are met.
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
